The Lightmongers innovate with a “socially distanced” Golf Fund-raiser and a ZOOM Awards presentation!

The Lightmongers annual Charity Golf Fund-raising Day had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. As if by Magic … Worshipful Company of Lightmongers present certificates through the ether to celebrate achievements of its 2020 Education Award Winners.

There is no doubt that a Zoom meeting cannot replace the pomp, ceremony and human emotion of a traditional Lightmongers' Ceremony but the Education Committee, under the Chairmanship of Stuart Mucklejohn,  made a splendid job of staging a virtual event to enable the presentation of the 2020 awards.  However, the winners will not lose out, as they will be invited to attend 'real' events later ... City of London Freedom Ceremonies now possible on-line

During May Captain (now Colonel Sir) Tom Moore received the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his phenomenal COVID-19 fund-raising on behalf of NHS charities, with which we are all very familiar.
