It is with deep regret that we announce that Past Master William Wright passed away on Saturday 20 May, after a brave battle with cancer. Bill passed away peacefully in hospital with his family around him. This famous inter Livery golf trophy was first played for in 1927 at Walton Heath to celebrate the Freedom and Livery of Prince Arthur of Connaught admission to the Coachmakers. Dear Fellow Lightmongers, April was a quieter month with many livery activities stopping for Easter, although the Mistress was a guest of the Information Technologists, Mariners and Environmental Cleaners. Lords Mayors Appeal On Wednesday 3rd May the Lightmongers were well represented at what was a wonderful day of horse racing, eating and fund raising. Around 400 people attended the event in the Pavilion Restaurant. Among the Lightmongers was a full table of Past Master Mike Liphold and his family celebrating his birthday. The 180th Court Meeting was held at Tallow Chandlers on the 10th of May. The Master Mike Simpson was proud to admit to the company 7 new Freemen by redemption.
