The Lightmongers innovate with a “socially distanced” Golf Fund-raiser and a ZOOM Awards presentation!

The Lightmongers annual Charity Golf Fund-raising Day had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. Undaunted by this setback the Lightmongers Charitable Trust, based on some creative thinking from Liveryman James Hill, organised a ‘socially distanced” Charity Golf Event, fully compliant with COVID regulations and guidance! As if by Magic … Worshipful Company of Lightmongers present certificates through the ether to celebrate achievements of its 2020 Education Award Winners.

There is no doubt that a Zoom meeting cannot replace the pomp, ceremony and human emotion of a traditional Lightmongers' Ceremony but the Education Committee, under the Chairmanship of Stuart Mucklejohn,  made a splendid job of staging a virtual event to enable the presentation of the 2020 awards.  However, the winners will not lose out, as they will be invited to attend 'real' events later ... City of London Freedom Ceremonies now possible on-line

During May Captain (now Colonel Sir) Tom Moore received the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his phenomenal COVID-19 fund-raising on behalf of NHS charities, with which we are all very familiar. Construction Livery Group – 2020 Award winners

The Construction Livery Group held its 2020 awards ceremony at Mansion House on 2nd March 2020. The awards date back to 2001 when Masters certificates were first awarded to those who hold leading positions in their profession. Lightmongers Carol Service December 2019

We held our annual Carol service on the 4th of December in our Company Church, St Botolph’s without Aldgate. The service was conducted by the Rev Laura Jorgenson and was a traditional service of lessons and carols. Mary Hare Speech day and Prize Giving

Mary Hare our affiliated school for deaf children, held their annual Speech day with Prize Giving for the children on 29th November.
