Annual Lighting Industry Presidents’ Luncheon
The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers brings together the Presidents of the lighting industry bodies once a year to network and discuss matters of mutual interest in the historic surroundings of Tallow Chandlers’ Hall. Hackney Carriage Drivers annual Euro Disney Trip
One of the highlights of the Masters year is attending the send-off for the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Driver’s annual Children’s Magical Taxi Tour, taking sick and terminally ill children to Disneyland Paris. Lightmongers Thames River Cruise to view the Illuminated River project
On September 6th a party of 60 Lightmongers and their guests boarded the Edwardian, a Thames river cruiser for a trip to view the lighting of the first 4 Bridges of the Illuminated River project. Once completed this will be the longest public art commission in the world at 2.5 miles long, covering 15 bridges from the Albert Bridge down to Tower Bridge. The Master ... Read more
The Lightmongers visit HMS Queen Elizabeth
On August 23rd a group of 30 Lightmongers had the great privilege to be welcomed aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s latest aircraft carrier. Margaret Price 1931 – 2019
A memorial service and reception to celebrate the life of Margaret Price, wife of Liveryman Bill Price MBE, was held on 27 July at Christ Church, Bexleyheath. The Lightmongers’ Company was represented by Past Master Hugh Ogus and his wife Mavis and many messages of sympathy and support were received by Bill and his family from Lightmongers unable to attend. The Master at the Illuminated River Lighting Up Ceremony
The Master, Stephen Thomas, attended the formal ceremony of the lighting up of the first four bridges of the Illuminated River project. Once complete, this will be the longest public art commission in the world at 2.5 miles in length and re-light 15 of the Thames bridges, from Albert to Tower Bridge.
