Our affiliated School for blind and visually impaired children, NCW, held their Celebration Day on Friday 26th June, at which year-end prizes were presented. The Lightmongers annual Charity Golf Fund-raising Day had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. Undaunted by this setback the Lightmongers Charitable Trust, based on some creative thinking from Liveryman James Hill, organised a ‘socially distanced” Charity Golf Event, fully compliant with COVID regulations and guidance! During May Captain (now Colonel Sir) Tom Moore received the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his phenomenal COVID-19 fund-raising on behalf of NHS charities, with which we are all very familiar. The Construction Livery Group held its 2020 awards ceremony at Mansion House on 2nd March 2020. The awards date back to 2001 when Masters certificates were first awarded to those who hold leading positions in their profession. We held our annual Carol service on the 4th of December in our Company Church, St Botolph’s without Aldgate. The service was conducted by the Rev Laura Jorgenson and was a traditional service of lessons and carols.
