The 180th Court Meeting was held at Tallow Chandlers on the 10th of May. The Master Mike Simpson was proud to admit to the company 7 new Freemen by redemption.

The new Freemen are; Bruce Kirk, John Shrew, Tony Greig, Warren Scothern, David Ellis and John Theis, (Robert Venning is not in the photo).

We look forward to these new Freemen contributing to the development of the Company.

We were also delighted to clothe four Freemen with the livery, Paul Bateman, James Simpson, Anthony Ginman, and Robert Venning.

The Court meeting was followed by supper during which several presentations were made of our Education Awards.

The City & Guilds Master’s Certificate was awarded to company Freeman Stuart Mucklejohn for his sterling work with our education committee.

We also had an announcement of funding for the Hugh Ogus school prizes for the next 10 years, kindly donated by Hugh’s son Simon Ogus.

Chris Claydon-Butler the Managing Director of Kingfisher Lighting presented a significant cheque to the Lightmongers, for sponsoring the Lightmongers Lighting Education Trust (LET) Award for the next 10 years.

The next Court meeting will be held on the 20th of September at Tallow Chandlers Hall.
