It is with sadness that we heard of the passing of Liz Peck recently, who has died at the age of 46.
Liz was a highly respected lighting designer and well known across the lighting industry. In recent years she had run her own independent lighting design practice, winning awards for prestigious projects such as the lighting of Dover Castle and the Iron Bridge at Telford.
Liz was awarded the Worshipful Company of Lightmongers Student of the Year in 2003, at the time when she was undertaking the Bartlett MSc course in Light and Lighting and was a colleague and friend of many Lightmonger members.
For several years Liz was the Secretary of the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) and was elected to serve as the SLL President for 2015 and through those roles she encouraged and helped to build stronger links across the various Lighting industry bodies.
During her year of office as SLL President Liz was one of the instigators of the first SLL Night of Heritage Light, part of the UNESCO International Year of Light, which went on to win several awards. Liz herself was awarded the prestigious LUX Person of the Year Award in 2015.
Liz will be greatly missed throughout the Lighting Industry.
