One of the highlights of the Masters year is attending the send-off for the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Driver’s annual Children’s Magical Taxi Tour, taking sick and terminally ill children to Disneyland Paris. On September 6th a party of 60 Lightmongers and their guests boarded the Edwardian, a Thames river cruiser for a trip to view the lighting of the first 4 Bridges of the Illuminated River project. On August 23rd a group of 30 Lightmongers had the great privilege to be welcomed aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s latest aircraft carrier. A memorial service and reception to celebrate the life of Margaret Price, wife of Liveryman Bill Price MBE, was held on 27 July at Christ Church, Bexleyheath. The Master, Stephen Thomas, attended the formal ceremony of the lighting up of the first four bridges of the Illuminated River project. The Lighting Industry Sailing Regatta, organized by the LIA, took place on 6th June, based at Portsmouth, with a competitive team of Lightmongers taking part.
