The Lightmongers sharp shooters!
Lightmongers had 2 teams of 4 guns take part in this amazingly well supported day at the prestigious Holland & Holland shooting grounds.
Once again this annual event hosted some 420+ guns representing 57 of the City Livery Companies. Unfortunately neither of our teams was a match to the winners, an excellent squad, of which one shot 79 out of 80 clays, from the Gunmakers Company.
A bacon or sausage baguette started the day off nicely and the weather was dry, if not a little windy, being one of the excuses used for missing. After the shooting a sumptuous buffet lunch consisting of salt beef, beef, chicken, seafood pasta, quiche and hog roast with all the trimmings was enjoyed in the marquee.
A great day was had by all 8 of us so much so that we are considering holding a Lightmongers Clay Shooting Day next year, and of course also taking part again in the Inter-livery Shoot next year.
