Each year the Lightmongers present Awards for Outstanding Achievement to individuals nominated by the Commanding Officers of each of our three military affiliations. We usually present these at the Lightmongers Livery Dinner held in one of the prestigious Livery Halls in the City of London.  This year however, because of COVID-19, the Livery Dinner was cancelled and alternative arrangements had to be made for the presentations to the winners of the 2020 awards, who were:

Army Award – Capt Tommy Flight of 579 Field Squadron

Award sponsored by Liveryman Bob Harris

RAF Award – L/Cpl Neal Poole of 606 (Chiltern) Squadron

Award sponsored by Past Master Rod Bennion

Royal Navy Award – Lieutenant Mike Hawkins

Award  sponsored by Past Master John Harding.

The Army and RAF Awards were delivered to each of the units and the presentations were made locally by the Commanding Officers.

For the Royal Navy, whilst HMS Queen Elizabeth was in Portsmouth the Master and Clerk were invited aboard, under strict COVID-secure arrangements, to make the presentation:

Master presenting certificate

The Master, Peter Harris, presenting the Award to Lieutenant Mike Hawkins

Congratulations to all the 2020 Award winners and many thanks to the Sponsors of the Awards for their generous support.
