It was a great privilege for the Court, at its 12th February 2025 meeting, to install a new Liveryman and to welcome into the Company a new Freemen.

The Court congratulated Freeman Suzanne Castine, Marketing Manager at Recolight Ltd, on progressing to full membership by becoming a Liveryman of the Company. Liverymen are able to take up various City of London benefits, such as the right to vote for the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs, and to become more involved in the operation of the Company e.g. through joining a committee to contribute their skills and experience in supporting the work of the Company and our Charitable Trust.

At the Court dinner that evening the Master, Tony Ginman, raised a toast to our new Liveryman Suzanne Castine and our new Freeman Matt Callandar, wishing them much enjoyment and satisfaction from their membership, which will be enhanced by active participation in our networking events and also our charity and education work e.g. through their financial donations.

The Company was privileged to have guests from three other Livery Companies join them for the Dinner, the Master and Consort of the Wax Chandlers Company, the Master and Consort of the Founders Company and the Master and Clerk of the Coachmakers Company. Our Master, Tony, warmly welcomed them and shared a toast with them and all other guests.

The Master Wax Chandler, Linda Marston-Weston responded on behalf of the guests, thanking the Master and the Company for the warm welcome and wonderful hospitality.
She concluded by proposing the toast to the Lightmongers, “may it flourish root and branch forever”, which all those present joined in enthusiastically.

The Master concluded the formalities of the evening by thanking everyone for attending the dinner and inviting them to join him in a stirrup cup before enjoying a safe journey home.
