When the Lightmongers receive an invitation like this:

it is clearly an honour and the Master Steve Thomas, Deputy Master Barbara Harding, the Clerk Phillip Hyde and Past Masters John Harding and John Otten were privileged to be invited to NCW to see The Princess Royal’s visit to our affiliated school for the blind. She was there for a couple of hours and toured the school to see the facilities and meet the pupils and staff.

During the tour the Princess Royal met the Lightmongers group and was clearly interested, as a Liveryman and Past Master Butcher herself, to hear of our support for the school. NCW are very appreciative of the support they receive from the Lightmongers.

The main focus of the Lightmongers Charitable Trust over many years has been to make donations to Charities that support those who suffer from sensory impairment of sight and/or hearing because good lighting can be of great benefit to them. As part of this the Lightmongers formed affiliations with two specialist schools, NCW (School for the Blind and visually impaired) and Mary Hare (School for the Deaf). So a big thank-you to all Lightmongers for your donations and support at our charity fund-raising events, particularly our Annual Charity Golf Day, which is focussed on fund-raising for the two Schools.
