On 7th October 2023, the finale of the Lord Mayor’s Cadet Music Competition took place in Mediterranean temperatures in the courtyard at Guildhall.

Master Lightmonger, Jamie Berry,  enjoyed the performances of all the entrants and was enormously proud to witness 56 Woolwich RAF Cadets, our affiliated Air Force Cadet Squadron, win this year’s Best Band award. What an achievement! Congratulations to our Cadets and their music teachers and of course to Squadron Leader, Mark Bird, honorary Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Lightmongers.  All those hours of practice were in evidence and justly rewarded – fantastic result.
