We’re always thrilled to welcome fresh energy and experience into the Lightmongers community, and at our Court meeting on May 7th, 2025, we did just that… We celebrated the formal installation of new members across various categories—including a new Liveryman, four new Freemen, and a new Honorary Freeman.
A Warm Welcome to Our Newest Members
First up, congratulations to Keith Aldis, Consultant and former Chief Executive of the Brick Development Association, who was clothed in the Livery. Liverymen play an essential role in shaping the future of the Lightmongers, and Keith brings with him a wealth of experience and insight.
We were also honoured to welcome Hon Air Commodore Jane Middleton of our RAF affiliate, 606 Squadron, as a Honorary Freeman. Her commitment to public service and her leadership is outstanding and her membership of the Company will further strengthen our affiliation with 606 Squadron.
The Master with Liveryman Keith Aldis and Air Commodore Jane Middleton.
New Freemen Join the Fold
The Court was pleased to install four new Freemen, each bringing unique expertise and backgrounds to the Company:
- George Beeston – Director at Alphalite Controls
- Richard Caple – Marketing and Lighting Applications Director at Thorlux Lighting
- Charles Cashman – Retired Marine Engineer
- James Wallace – National Specification Manager at CP Electronics
These individuals represent a wide range of professional fields, and we’re delighted they’ve joined us and we welcome their contribution to the life and work of the Lightmongers.
L-R: James Wallace, Richard Caple, Master Tony Ginman, Charles Cashman and George Beeston
Encouraging Engagement and Growth
During the Court Dinner that followed, Master Tony Ginman warmly welcomed all the new members and encouraged them to make the most of their membership by getting involved in the Company’s events and charitable activities. He also invited the new Freemen to consider taking the next steps on their Lightmongers journey by applying for the Freedom of the City of London, a key milestone toward becoming a full Liveryman.
