At the annual Common Hall meeting (AGM) and Dinner of members held 3rd November 2017, Liveryman Barbara Harding was elected to serve as Master Lightmonger for 2017/18.

In her speech after the Dinner the Master paid tribute to the superb way in which the Deputy Master Michael Simpson and his wife Jo, had represented and promoted the Company during their year of office as Master.

Barbara thanked all Members for the trust they have placed in her to be Master Lightmonger for the 2017/18 year and undertook that she, supported by her consort John, would be enthusiastic in representing and promoting the Lightmongers at every opportunity. During the year she would be looking to encourage all members to participate in all the events that they can and to support the work of the Lightmongers Charitable Trust.

The Deputy Master, Michael Simpson, in his speech thanked Members for the privilege, that he and Jo had enjoyed, of representing the Company over the past year, during which he had also observed how well respected the Lightmongers are in the City of London Livery movement.

The installation dinner was attended by 87 members, who all enjoyed a superb meal and plenty of conversation in the wonderful setting of Tallow Chandlers Hall (our home base).  Altogether a great evening and if you want to note the date for next year, it is Friday 2nd November 2018!
