Dave Burns, our Cadet Liasion representitive, joined the Cadets of TS WIzard, John and Jane Havergal of Youth Organisation on Uniform to visit the 3 German Ships in Canary Wharf docks, named Sieburg, Pegnitz and auxiliary ship named Main.
The German Naval Commander Steffen and the Naval Attache form the German Embassy hosted the visit.
The tour included the 3 mine seekers ships as well as the Auxiliary ship, drinks in the Captains mess and a photo opportunity on deck. It was a fantastic day and hopefully one of many to come as part of a German / UK youth scheme.
It was interesting to find out, Germany has no military cadet units but are hoping to introduce them in the future.
