On a wonderfully warm and sunny June day, 12 guns representing the Lightmongers assembled at the magnificent Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds to participate in the 2021 Annual Inter Livery Charitable Clay Pigeon Shooting Competition.

This major inter-livery annual event, now in its 27th year, took place over two consecutive days bringing together over 460 guns representing 78 City of London Livery Companies.

With the Lightmongers drawn to compete on day one, our three teams duly refreshed from our early morning breakfast refreshments enjoyed at our designated `pop up` team assembly station, set off enthusiastically to tackle some very challenging targets, as we undertook each of the 10 stands and finishing with the exhilarating 80 bird flush.

With the very high level of competition once again prevailing, I`m pleased to report that all our teams managed to produce some very respectable scores, so well done to all our shooters!

The overall winning livery company this year was the Gunmakers taking first, second, and third places with some incredibly high team/individual scores on the day.

Despite the challenges of meeting the prevailing social distancing restrictions, the organisers delivered a truly superb day for us all and therefore our thanks go to all involved.

Upon the completion of shooting, all teams then enjoyed a delightful, individually boxed, lunch served in the field, together with some well received liquid refreshments whilst commiserating over those clays that `only just` manged to get away!

A superb day once again thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance and with some charitable funds also raised for worthy causes, we now look forward to once again taking part in this annual sporting event within the inter-livery calendar in 2022.
