Liverymen Matt Harding and Dale Nettle, together with their colleague Michelle undertook the OutLaw Nottingham half Ironman event challenge on 20th June 2021, to raise funds for the Lightmongers Charitable Trust.
The Event start at 7 a.m with Dale bravely taking on the 1.2 mile open water swim, which he completed in 1 hour 5 minutes. He handed over to Matt who took on the 56 mile bike ride, completing it in 3 hours 39 minutes. Michelle then took over for the 13.1 mile run, which she completed in 2 hours 8 minutes. What fantastic endurance by each of them!
The Team set a target of raising £250 for the Lightmongers Charity but exceeded this by over 5 times, raising a total of £1,295. A great result and heartfelt thanks are due to both the team for undertaking the challenge and to all those who generously donated in support of the team and raised these funds.
The Lightmongers are affiliated with two specialist schools providing education to those with sensory impairment of sight and/or hearing, where good lighting can be beneficial. The funds raised by the team will be donated to these two schools: New College Worcester for blind and partially sighted children and young people; Mary Hare School for Deaf children and young people.
Congratulations and thanks to Dale, Matt and Michelle for a fantastic result and to everyone who generously supported them.
